Girls Team Wins 2021 Regional Meet

Congratulations to the Battlefield Girls Team for winning the 6B Region Meet on Friday, February 5, and to the Battlefield Boys Team for coming in third place in Regionals.

We want to recognize the Girls 200 Medley Relay (Jamie Cornwell, Emma Hannam, Sophia Heilen, Camille Spink) for setting a Battlefield and PWCS record with a time of 1:44.60. Individual Battlefield records were set by Camille Spink in the 50 free with a time of 22.55 (also a PWCS record), and Ryan Strotheide with a time of 52.78 in the 100 backstroke. Camille Spink also set a PWCS Pool Record in the 100 free.

Congratulations to all of you on a great performance at Regionals!

Regional Results –  We had too many great swims last week to mention them all, but I will say that Coach Evan and I were very proud of both our teams. The Boys met with some very good competition and narrowly missed out on a second place finish. On the Girls side, this is our first Regional Championship for the Girls. We set many records during the meet. On the girls side, we qualified all 3 relays and at least one individual in each event to the State Championship which is another first for the program. It was a great meet and I would encourage everyone to look at the results on our website.

Practices – This will be the last week of practices at the Freedom Center. Take advantage of the opportunity to get more practice in preparing for Summer swim.

Let’s finish the year strong!
