2025 Virginia State Championship

Another amazing swim & dive season is in the books for Battlefield High School. The girls team finished as the State Runner-Up and fell to their rivals at Yorktown. Junior Alyssa Sagle broke the state record in the 100 yard backstroke in a time of 52.19.

Battlefield also extended the streak to 5 years in a row winning the girls 50 yard freestyle at the state championship.  The boys team finished 13th improving 3 spots from 2024. Both squads had incredible swims and time drops and leave the meet with a lot to be proud of.

  • Amelia Edwards – 200 Freestyle (7th )
  • Emma Young – 50 Freestyle (1st)
  • Madison Richardson – 50 Freestyle (3rd)
  • Alyssa Sagle – 100 Freestyle (1 st )
  • Madison Richardson – 100 Freestyle (3rd)
  • Amelia Edwards – 500 Freestyle (6th )
  • Madison Richardson, Sophie Hayden, Stella O’Shea, Emma Young, – 200 Free Relay (2nd)
  • Alyssa Sagle – 100 Backstroke (1st)
  • Emma Young – 100 Breaststroke (6th)
  • Madison Richardson, Amelia Edwards, Maddie Mercer, Alyssa Sagle, – 400 Free Relay (1st )
  • Finn O’Shea – 100 Freestyle (4th)
  • Ethan Thompson, Andrew Atwood, Ryan Maynard, Finn O’Shea – 200 Free Relay (8th)
