BHS Shines at the 2020 District Meet

Battlefield High School had a fantastic showing at Districts with the Boys taking the District title and the girls falling to the runner-up by 60 points. Throughout the meet, our swimmers had some really great swims and related time drops. Additionally, we had several records broken:

Sophia Heilen – 100 Fly, broke her own record with time of  56.27
Camille Spink – 100 Backstroke, broke the school and county record with time of 55.37

Girls 200 Free Relay – Golsen, Diatchenko, Hannam, Spink. Broke the school and county record with time of  1:37.69
On the Boys side, we bested Patriot by 110 points. It was a very solid win and gives us a Re-peat as District champions.

On the Girls side, Patriot got past us by just 59.5 points.  We have much to be proud of and excited about on the performance of the girls team at Districts.

As we move to Regionals, we congratulate all of our swimmers and divers moving to the next level and sincerely thank everyone that finished their season at the District meet. For the Boys, you have the ability to bring home the first Regional title in school history … make it happen! For the Girls, you have the same opportunity. Everyone bring their A game to Regionals!

We also were part of a very competitive District meet. It started on Thursday, January 24 when our Boy divers took 1st, 3rd, and 4th place. On Friday night, the boys and girls entered the swimming championships. Both teams had great swims with new State and Regional cuts as well as many personal best times. In the end, the ladies finished in third and were just edged out by Osbourn Park. The boys squad had a great meet and ended a six year drought by winning the boys championship. It was a fantastic meet for all our divers and swimmers and the coaches were thrilled with the results.
